[inline: 2=camera image]The deadline for submitting videos for Dosta! video competition has expired!
We invited video amateurs, art academy/school, associations, to produce a short video (maximum 20 minutes) promoting the basic campaign messages:
[inline: 1=bullet]Roma have rights and aspirations like everybody else. They are citizens of the countries they live in and they have to be recognized as such, in the full respect of their citizenship and human rights.
[inline: 1=bullet]Roma culture is part of Europe’s cultural heritage and it has contributed to the enrichment of European societies. It is now time to recognize this contribution.
We received 24 vshort ideos and 14 of them have been preselected by the Roma Division according to the criterion of participation.
Now the decision is up to the International jury, which is finally revealed to you:
President of the Jury: Mr. Tony Gatlif (film maker)
Livia Jaroka, European Parliament Member
Jim Werner, Eurimages
Alexandra Raykova, President of the Forum of European Young Roma People
Claire Stéphan, Journalist at ARTE (International Television)
Selected productions will be soon posted on the campaign website.
The winners will be personally contacted on 27 October and invited to attend the prize giving ceremony during which they will know which is their order of arrival.
The prize giving ceremony will take place on 7 November, in Strasbourg, at the Odyssée cinema, during the fortnight of Roma movies. For more information about the fortnight of Roma movies, click here.
The winning productions will be distributed free of charge to the participating TV stations and used by the Council of Europe and its partners.
Good luck to everybody!
