2014 marks the 70th anniversary of the genocide committed against Roma
during the Second World War. It is by far the greatest tragedy in Roma
Due to the significance of this topic and in the light of the 70th
anniversary, the ERTF would like to mark August 2nd in a special way in
2014. We are therefore looking to issue a postal stamp, in order to spread
awareness and to promote the importance of August 2nd.
International Roma Day on the 8th of April is an international day to celebrate Roma culture and reflect on issues facing Roma communities. To mark Roma Nation Day the Institute of Sociology and Social Policy will be holding a short film screening and discussion on Roma school segregation in Europe, which will focus on the causes of segregation and strategies to challenge it. The film is titled: Our School and was directed and produced by Mona Nicoara.
