Dosta! launch in Greece

Inaugural event of the Council of Europe Dosta! campaign launch, organised by the Greek authorites, will take place on 3 February 2011 at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation in Athens. The audience will be addressed by Ms Fofi Gennimata, the Alternate Minster of the Ministry for Education, Lifelong learning and Religious affairs and Mr Jeroen Schokkenbroek, Special Representative of the Secretary General for Roma issues to show the joint efforts in combating against prejudices faced by the Roma on daily basis.

Senior women's network meets Roma entrepreneur

At a reception held by the Deputy Secretary General for the senior women's network on 1 December 2010 in Strasbourg, Roma entrepreneur and activist Mira Chileva presented the Bulgarian Roma Fashion initiative, which employs Roma women to design and produce modern clothes based on traditional Roma clothes from around the world.  Young students modelled the designs, which show the beauty and dignity of Roma culture through a venture which also promotes employment among Roma women.

Michto Festival in Strasbourg and Dosta

The association “Lupovino” from Strasbourg has organized the “Michto Festival” in “Parc de la Citadelle” in Strasbourg from 2 to 4 July 2010. Lupovino has been working for more than 15 years for the improvement of the living conditions of French Manush (Sinti), Gitans (Kalé) and Roma, collectively called in France as “Gens du voyage”, and is organising regularly cultural and educational activities for the promotion of their culture and tradition.

Barvale exhibition on successful Roma in Skopje's Chifte Amam gallery

Dusko Miljanic’s Barvale exhibition, as a part of Dosta! campain activities, had its grand opening on 14th of June in Macedonian Chifte Amam gallery. Being organized and financed by Council of Europe thirty two works created during this project and presenting successful Roma people were exhibited.
